# Artifacts

> Create interactive reports, open them in Files, and share them with your team or by public link.

An artifact is an interactive report or document with its own viewer link. It can contain pages, charts, images, and canvases. Use it to turn research or project data into something other people can explore.

## Create an artifact

Ask Replo to build one and return its link:

```text theme={null}
Create an artifact summarizing this research, with a clear introduction and the supporting images. Return a link I can open and share.
```

Open **Files**, then **Artifacts**, to find your artifacts. Select one to preview it. You can also open the link Replo returns in chat.

## Share an artifact

1. Open the artifact and select **Share**. The owner can manage access in this dialog.
2. To share with existing project members, search under **Add people or project**, select the people and their role, then select **Add person**. Choose **Everyone in this project** and **Add access** to share with the project.
3. To share outside your project, set **General access** to **Anyone with the link**, then select **Copy link**. Anyone with that link can view it without signing in.

Access changes save immediately. Select **Restricted** to turn off public viewing; named people and project members keep their existing access. The people picker does not invite new members into your project.

> A public link also exposes live chart results inside the artifact. Review the data before enabling public access. Public viewers can see those results without signing in.

## Request access

If a link is unavailable, sign in and select **Request access**. If the artifact exists and has an owner, Replo emails the owner to review your request. Requesting access does not grant permission. You will need to reopen the link after the owner updates sharing.

An unavailable link can also mean the artifact was removed or its link changed. Replo shows the same message for private and missing artifacts.

## Rename or update an artifact

Artifacts are stored as folders ending in `.artifact`. Files hides that suffix in list labels. When renaming, keep the suffix so the viewer link continues working. Editing the content does not require creating a new viewer link.

## Troubleshooting

* **This artifact is empty:** the folder has no opening page yet. Ask Replo to finish the artifact and add its opening page.
* **Page not found:** a page inside the artifact is missing. Return to the artifact's original link or ask its author to fix the internal link.
* **A chart couldn’t load:** refresh the page. If it still fails, ask the author to check the chart and its data source.
* **Image not included in this artifact:** ask Replo to include the image file in the artifact folder.

See [Files](/apps/files) for organizing files and managing team access.
