The Files app is your project’s private file manager, like a drive built into your store. Browse and organize files in folders, upload your own, share them with your team, and open them in built-in viewers and editors. Open Files from its shortcut under Apps in the sidebar. You can also use All apps or search with Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows).

What you can do

  • Browse and organize files in folders, with favorites for the ones you reach for often.
  • Upload your own files, and create folders to keep things tidy.
  • Open files in place with built-in viewers and editors for Markdown, code, CSV, spreadsheets, PDFs, documents, and media.
  • Share a file or folder with your team, or keep it private.
  • Add a file to chat so Replo works with exactly that file, the same way you @-mention anything else.

Bring research into Files

If your research is in Assets, use Copy to Files to choose a destination folder. The original stays in Assets. From a connected AI client, specify the project and ask it to save a document directly to Files:
The Files tools can list, create, read, rename, and move documents and folders. Your existing file permissions still apply. They do not search the Assets library.

The three views

  • My Files are your private workspace files and folders.
  • Team files are shared across your workspace.
  • Shared with Me holds files other people have shared with you.

Work with a file

Right-click any file (or use its ⋯ menu) to act on it: view details, open in a new tab, copy its link, rename, move, share, or delete. A few of those actions are worth calling out.

Share

Open Share from a file or folder’s menu to see People with access. The owner can add people, change their roles, and manage project and public access.
  1. Select Add people or project and search for a person by name or email, or choose Everyone in this project.
  2. For people, choose Viewer to let them view the item, Commenter to let them view and comment on it, or Editor to let them view and edit it. Everyone in this project always gets Editor access, and the item appears in Team.
  3. Select Add person or Add access to apply the access immediately. Changing a person’s role or choosing Remove access beside their name also takes effect immediately.
To remove project access, choose Remove access beside Everyone in this project. All access changes take effect immediately. Select Done to close sharing. The picker lists existing project members. It does not invite new people into your project. For project invitations, use Settings. For an artifact you want to share outside your project, use a public link. For an artifact, set General access to Anyone with the link. The change saves immediately. Select Copy link to share its viewer URL. Anyone with that link can view the artifact without a Replo login; people listed under People with access keep their existing roles. Anyone with the link can also read the artifact’s comments. To let them add comments, change Can view to Can comment; they sign in before posting. To turn off public access, select Restricted. This takes effect immediately and keeps the people and project access you already granted. Public links also expose any live chart results shown inside the artifact. Review that data before sharing. See Artifacts for creating, viewing, and requesting access to artifacts. Regular files and folders do not offer Anyone with the link. A regular file’s Copy link copies a temporary download link to its contents, rather than an artifact viewer URL. Regular folders have no Copy link button in this dialog.

Add to chat

Add to chat drops the file into the chat composer as a chip, so Replo works with exactly that file. Typing @ and picking the same file from the Files group in the @-mention menu inserts that same chip. The Files group starts with app files hidden, which keeps generated and app-managed files out of the way. Open the filter and sort menu next to the Files search to turn on Include app files, or sort by Newest first, Oldest first, or File name.

Save to assets

Save to assets promotes a file into your project’s Assets library so your site can use it. This option only appears for media the asset library supports, such as images, video, audio, and fonts. You will not see it on a document or spreadsheet. The two libraries have different jobs. Files is your private working drive: drafts, documents, spreadsheets, and anything you are still working on. Assets is your project’s media library, the approved images, video, fonts, and audio that go onto your site. When something in Files is ready to appear on your store, that is when you save it to Assets.
